In November 1830, a group of young patriots from the Infantry Cadets School in Warsaw’s Łazienki Palace complex initiated an uprising against Russia, known thereafter as the November Uprising. The fighters in the rebellion mostly came from the army. THREE months later, on 25 February 1831, one of the bloodiest battles of the insurrection took place in the woods of Olszynka Grochowska.
