The Lure, produced by WFDiF, and Agnieszka Smoczyńska’s debut was recognized at the 36th Fantasporto International Film Festival in Porto, Portugal.
The film received no fewer than three awards in prestigious categories for best film, best direction, and best special effects.
The Jury: Ate de Jong, Romain Basset, Drew Casson, Marc Carreté and Mark Murphy, while conferring the main award, called The Lure “a surprising director debut and one of the best films at the recently concluded Sundance Festival”.
The festival was originally dedicated to science fiction and fantasy but in recent years widened its scope by “Directors Week” – an out-of-genre film competition in which, in 2013, Marcin Dorociński received an award for his role in The Rose.
This year’s edition of the festival took place from February 26th to March 5th 2016.
