The title of Magdalena Drab's play refers to ordinary people, tormented by their own banality and unable to face the greyness of everyday life. They succumb to depression, and some even find refuge in it. Their dreams of love and of a better life for themselves are overshadowed by a paralyzing fear of death. The play's protagonist is a young mother whose depression isolates her from her family and other people. But is motherhood the true cause of her illness?Perhaps she had already revealed her weakness by being a sensitive person in a world where emotional detachment and coarse behavior are considered to be signs of strength? The play won the prestigious Gdynia Drama Prize competition in 2017.
