Franswa Jackoh is looking for the truth. Led by the Narrator and the Answering Machine, he makes his way from his home to the Holocaust Museum, where on one of the suitcases from Auschwitz, he recognizes his father’s surname. It’s not an ordinary trip, but a road to the recovery of memory and identity. The truth, which has been missing his entire life, suddenly hits him with unbelievable force. This violent reversal prompts the return of memories, situations, questions that for years were left unanswered. The hero’s entire life passes before his eyes: childhood memories, dreams, meetings, travels, various stages of his awkward journey to self-discovery. The walk to the Museum becomes a journey through memory, and the places where Franswa stops, real or unreal, create a kind of mental map, woven from doubts, fears and hopes connected with the opening of his father’s suitcase, the only thing that remains of him.
