The action of Pesky takes place in a small town somewhere in Poland. We witness a conversation between a child welfare officer and Helena and Tadeusz – the parents of socially maladjusted, nearly-sixteen-year-old Zuzanna, who thinks she's a dog. In a series of flashbacks playing out in the minds of the main characters, we see traumatic events from their past. The mistakes of the parents become the reason for the daughter’s maladjustment and loneliness. The life of the family – mother, father and child – is depicted in a crooked mirror, with events that often border on the absurd. It turns out that family relations have been disturbed for generations. Zuzanna, who was named after her father’s beloved dog, has had a life marked by tragedy since the moment of her birth. The girl with the dog's name, as the unwanted fruit of a twisted love, has a dog's life as well.
