An ironic take on two classic texts of Polish theatre: Mickiewicz's Forefathers' Eve and Wyspianski's The Wedding, Wojciech Kuczok's play is a grotesque comedy.
A present-day Polish family proud of its noble lineage gathers at a séance to summon the spirits of ancestors, notably the ghost of the family’s progenitor, great-grandfather Octavian Alfonse, affectionately known as Okt-Alf.This annual celebration is intended to sustain the family's noble traditions and provide edifying role-models for its somewhat unruly younger generation. But what if the ghosts do not always live up to idealized family legend? What they turn out to be flawed and human? To make matters worse, the appearance of a few uninvited spirits will further shake up all members of the household.
